“Sachelle Thomas is a Trinidad and Tobago–based steelpan musician, educator, composer, and author with over two decades of experience in performance and music education. She has performed and conducted workshops both locally and internationally, and serves as the Assistant Musical Director of the Trinidad All Stars Senior Academy. She currently works as a music instructor within the primary school system as well as at the Solari Centre for Music Therapy, where she teaches students of varying abilities, including neurodivergent learners. She is the founder of Sach and Steel, an educational and cultural platform offering workshops, performances, and creative resources in steelpan, musicianship, and cultural context, and is the author of a steelpan coloring and activity book designed to make the instrument accessible to young learners. Rooted in the traditions of the Trinidadian pan yard, her work explores how informal, community-based learning models can inform and transform formal education, while preserving the cultural integrity of the steelpan art form globally. “
